Directed by two-Michelin-starred chef Shokazu Kudo, WA-RA Japanese Restaurant is based on the rice-burning technique of Japan’s Edo period cuisine, warayaki (藁yaki), with its deep kaiseki heritage integrated with innovative elements, using ingredients to capture the changes of the four seasons in Kaohsiung, the precision of the heat mastery, etc., the cuisine reflects the cultural narrative that the IHG brand values and achieves delicate and exquisite individual dishes. The restaurant space is a visual metaphor for the color of lava under the sea, introducing a Japanese-style sprinkled nightlife atmosphere, with a ceiling height of more than 30 meters, comparable to an experimental theater space, with a Japanese-style theme bar, two immersive projection mapping projections at 20:00 and 22:00 on the evening of the week, created by the royal animators of the Tiantuan, the Queen of Heaven World Tour and the best music design of the 2021 Golden Bell Awards, presenting a total length of 4 minutes of digital art concept projection mapping theater ”The Sea of Abundance”, with the source of all things, the sea of the universe, The four chapters of Four Seasons and Smart City respectively interpret the development of Kaohsiung City from the past to the future, and take the intercontinental medium ”Ocean” as the core of the story, echoing the space design of the hotel, integrating the visual elements of traditional Japan culture and the use of picture tones in WA-RA Japanese Restaurant, full of shocking video and audio of futuristic aesthetics, presenting guests with a fantasy art feast that transcends the five senses.
